Nelly Jordan is out as vice-chairwoman of the Sussex County Republican Party after a Facebook posting viewed as anti-Semitic.
Afterward Jordan told the Wilmington News Journal that she was not anti-Semitic but realizes her words were inappropriate and apologized for them.
One passage referred to “Many Jews In Name Only” who supported the impeach of the president.
The vote was nearly split down the middle with some expressing frustration that the party had to deal with the issue just as it enters an election year.
Meanwhile, committee member Ed Geniti blamed the media in part for the uproar over the posting.
But others felt should resign.
The committee will temporarily fill her post as the party gets in gear for the upcoming election.
