Second Waste Water Discharge into Lewes-Rehoboth Canal

Don Rush

For the second time in around two weeks the Lewes waste water treatment plant has discharged partially treated water into the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal.

The waste water bypassed the last two stages of treatment and lasted around two hours.

WBOC reports that the previous incident lasted for ten days before new equipment could be installed.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control says it will be monitoring the plant to ensure there are no more problems.
