Mountaire Farms Provides Thousands with Meals

Mountaire website

Mountaire Farms packed Thanksgiving meal boxes to provide food yesterday for some 45-thousand people across the peninsula.

WBOC reports there were more than 300 volunteers stuffing packages with canned goods, dessert mixes and a Mountaire chicken roaster.

This type of campaign has been going on for the last 25 years initially providing 300 boxes to help the Dagsboro Church of God.

Community Relations Manager Roger Marino told the television station that the campaign became the Thanksgiving for Thousands.

He said there were 28 organizations along with the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars helping out the effort.

Mountaire will be distributing the boxes at four locations today.

Volunteers will be packing another group of Christmas Meals on December 17th.

Marino told WBOC that the Company will feed some 80-thousand between Christmas and Easter.
