A higher-than-normal level of bacteria along the Indian River Inlet has resulted in a water advisory.

Samples were taken on Monday and found that there was fecal bacteria along the Delaware Seashore State Park beach.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that this does not mean the beach is closed but is a warning that the bacteria are present which could cause health problems.

There is also a water advisory for Slaughter Beach along the Delaware Bay.

More sample are expected to be taken to determine when the advisory might be lifted.
