OC Hit With Lawsuit Over Tram Accident

Don Rush

A lawsuit has been filed against Ocean City after one of its trams dragged a woman some 20-to-40 feet along the boardwalk.

Mona and Gregory Jones are asking for $75-thousand in addition to attorney’s fees when Mona was allegedly struck and dragged by the vehicle in September of 2017.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the suit says the incident occurred when two trams were approaching her from opposite directions.

The paper reports that the filing says defendant Dina McCoy lost control of her tram and struck Mona.

The suit claims that the tram did not stop until passengers started screaming for the driver to stop the tram.

In response Ocean City says the driver did not lose control and that it was Mona who struck tram while it was moving.

In addition, it says that McCoy stopped the tram immediately.
