The Sussex County Council voted 3-to-2 to make developers to put more open space in their cluster developments.
This would include also include setbacks and preservation.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the ordinance would affect agricultural areas but not coastal subdivisions.
A cluster development ordinance was enacted in the early 200’s recommending – what is called – superior design for such subdivisions.
But the paper reports only one developer decided use such a design but eventually opted out.
Now, it will be mandatory.
