DOVER, Del. (AP) - Law enforcement authorities in Delaware say a mother and father in Delaware have been charged in the death of their 16-month-old boy.
Delaware State News reports 25-year-old Antonio Hughes and 26-year-old Chanel E. Green were charged Friday after a two-year investigation.
The boy's death in April 2017 was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma associated with child abuse.
Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe says the investigation began after troopers responded to the hospital where the boy was pronounced dead after he had been home with Hughes while Green was at work.
The newspaper reports Green has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child. Hughes has been charged with murder by abuse.
Jail records do not list attorneys who could comment on behalf of the parents.
