University of Delaware

A former linebacker with the University of Delaware was shot and killed on Wednesday in Baltimore.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that 28 year-old David Mackall was found by Baltimore police with wounds to his torso and head.

He was taken to local hospital where he died.

Dave Brock who was head coach during Mackall’s last two years told the paper that he was saddened at the news.

He added when this happens “it guts you” to think about the loss of potential of a student’s life.

Mackall was a father of two young sons.
