You soon may be able to vote by mail in Delaware.

At least state lawmakers are now look at proposal unveiled yesterday.

State Representative Gerald Brady author of the measure says he hopes this will increase voter participation.

WBOC reports that the legislation would have the state elections commission administer the program drawing up regulations.

The ballots would be counted on Election Day.

Voters could either put the ballots in the mail or drop them off at a local polling place on Election Day.

If enacted voting by mail could come as soon as 2022.
