Delaware Bill Makes Absentee Voting Easier

Don Rush

Absentee voting could become easier in Delaware under a measure now in the state legislature.

The measure would eliminate requiring voters to provide one of the approved reasons for casting an absentee ballot.

State Representative Earl Jaques a supporter of the measure told the Wilmington News Journal that he hopes will bring more voters out to the polls.

Meanwhile, State Senator Stephanie Hansen told the paper that she saw this as a step toward allow voting by mail in another measure.

Absentee measure is not expected to increase election costs dramatically as would voting by mail.

The absentee voting bill would not take effect for two years.

The 2020 elections would not be effected by either of the two Democrats legislation.
