Delaware Joins Suit Against Administration Abortion Gag Rule

official photo

Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings says her state will join a national lawsuit against a new administration gag rule.

The Trump administration wants to prohibit family planning clinics from providing information or referring patients for abortions.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the rule would impact thousands of Delaware residents who seek family planning help at clinics and health centers that receive federal funds.

Jennings called the latest administration efforts, cruel, ineffective and harmful.

The Delaware Democrat said that instead of preventing unwanted pregnancies or promoting alternatives to abortion the rule would threaten access to family planning services.
