Heavy Rains Could Impact Halloween Events on Delmarva

The remnants of Hurricane Willa will be moving through Delmarva this weekend just in time for Halloween.

Weather forecasters expect heavy rain and strong wings in Sussex County by late Friday and Saturday.

Winds could reach 20 mph with some gusts could reach 30 mph.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that there could be as much as 1-to-2 inches of rain for Salisbury and Ocean City.

The rain is also expected to affect Halloween events around the peninsula.

Decisions for the Sea Witch Festival in Rehoboth Beach will be made late Friday in anticipation of the rainfall.

The Ocean Pines Association is also watching the weather forecast for its Halloween Fall Festival this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Pemberton Park Pumpkin Tour has been canceled which had been scheduled for Friday.
 

The Westside Schools Parent Teacher Association has also cancelled its Trunk or Treat event.
