Harrington Officer Justified in Hitting Suspect, Review Says

Cell Phone Video

Harrington Police Chief Norman Barlow says an internal affairs review has found that an officer was justified in striking Jermaine Newcomb multiple times in his head during his arrest.

Officers were called to the Harrington Raceway and Casino in February to a large fight in the area.

Newcomb was cited for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

But Newcomb maintains that he was not involved in the fight before he was arrested and disagrees with the conclusion of the report.

He told WBOC that he still intends to take some legal action but did not say what that might be.
