The Route 50 bridge into Ocean City will be closed for repairs tonight.
Work on the Harry W. Kelly Memorial Draw Bridge will begin at 10 p.m. and continue through 8 a.m.
WBOC reports that the Maryland Department of Transportation says that work crews found a crack in one of the steel beams during a regular inspection.
State officials were quick reassure motorists that the bridge is safe but that the department wanted to make the necessary repairs with the approach of the tourist season.
Motorists will be directed to Route 90 for access to the resort area while the work is being done.
