Crisfield Moves Ahead with Arts and Entertainment District

official photo

Crisfield is moving to develop an Arts and Entertainment District.

The City Council has approved tax incentives for around 100 acres that would provide business owners within the district credit for renovations.

WBOC reports that it is now up to the Somerset County Commissioners to approve the tax incentives before they get the required consideration by the state of Maryland.

The city says the district is part of an economic effort to encourage people to open up more properties.

City Manager Rick Pollitt told the television station that this would provide a framework to attract artistic talent.
