DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials say a man was critically injured in a Dover apartment building fire.

The Delaware Fire Marshal's office said in a statement that the fire broke out Tuesday at the Alder Park Apartments and firefighters found flames coming from a second-floor apartment when they arrived. Officials say a 41-year-old man was severely burned and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

State fire investigators remain on the scene searching for the fire's origin and cause.

Officials say damage is estimated at $250,000. Some residents were displaced, but officials didn't know how many.
