Salisbury University Foundation has acquired 8.5 acres of property just south of the main campus on Route 13 for $6 million.
Foundation officials said this would increase the size of the campus to more than 200 acres.
The Court Plaza will remain in operation with all existing leases to be honored.
In addition, other businesses will be encourage to locate to the site.
The foundation said there was no decision yet as to how the university will use the property.

But the foundation said that some possible uses range from academic research and lab facilities to student housing and a welcome center.
The property is being sold by Delcon International with the final settlement set for early next year.
