MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware have charged a man with posting threats against Gov. Jack Markell on Facebook.

State Police Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said in a news release that a Middletown woman contacted them on Sunday. Troopers say the woman showed them a post on Facebook that threatened her and Markell.

Investigators say the woman named a man whom she knows as the person who allegedly made the post.

On Tuesday, troopers arrested 51-year-old Roger M. Matthews of Warwick, Maryland. He is charged with threatening the life of a public official. He is being held on $4,000 cash bond.

Markell, a Democrat, is finishing his second term as governor.
