Delaware Food Bank Expands Operations With New Facility

creative commons

The Food Bank of Delaware is expanding to meet the growing need in the First State.

It is moving to an 80-thousand square foot location in the Pencader Corporate Center off Delaware Route 896.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that it is twice the size of the current operation in Ogletown.

The paper reports that it adds 8 more loading docks bringing the total to eleven.

This will allow the operation to handle 30 trucks on a daily basis.

In addition, there will be a nine and a-half acre retention pond that will be used for educational purposes.

Nearly five acres will be used to grow vegetables.

There will also be job training for the warehouse and agricultural positions.
