Delawareans Contemplate Hunger

Food Bank of Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Organizers of a conference being held in Wilmington are hoping to bring government agencies, nonprofits, businesses and faith-based groups together in an effort to end hunger in Delaware.

Gov. Jack Markell is among the scheduled speakers at Monday's conference, which is sponsored by The Food Bank of Delaware, Brae's Brown Bags and the Food Research and Action Center.

Other speakers include Jared Bernstein, former chief economist and economic adviser to Vice President Joseph Biden, and Dr. Sandra Hassink, President of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Organizers are expecting more than 500 adults and children to attend the conference.
