A New Facility Comes to Industrial Park in Virginia Town

gatewayregion.com

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) - Another major industrial facility may be coming to Meadowville Technology Park in Chesterfield County.

But officials are being mum about exactly what that facility might be.

The Richmond Times-Dispatchreports that the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is planning to hold a public hearing June 28 on an environmental permit for the project dubbed "Project Buzzard."

Documents show the project would include a 600,000-square foot warehouse with office space, parking spaces and other facilities. The documents don't reveal the name of the business seeking the development.

The Chesterfield Economic Development Authority acquired the property in 2005. Garrett Hart, director of the authority, declined to comment.

Other county officials say they don't know anything about it.

The technology park currently houses an Amazon Distribution Center, among other things.
