county sheriff's badge

A funeral will be held for Harford County Deputy Patrick Dailey next Wednesday at the Mountain Christian Church in Joppa.

He and Deputy Mark Logsdon were killed this week in a shootout with David Evans who also died.

The shooting took place in a Panera with one officer shot and killed in the restaurant while the other died as the shootout moved outside.

There were injuries to bystanders.

67 year old Elizabeth Rupp, who was once married to Evans, says she told authorities that her ex-husband was at the restaurant in northeastern Maryland and that he might harm his family.

After spotting him she left the restaurant and contacted authorities.

Evans had warrants for him in Florida and Harford County.

The two deputies were 30 and 16 year veterans of the force.
