Once it sat vacant but now the historic Washington Hotel in Princess Anne is expected to make a comeback early this year.
The building which reaches back to the 1700’s is being renovated with a series of grants and other funding.
Garland Hayward, president of the Princess Anne town Commissioners told WBOC, that the hotel and restaurant is on track to be opened later this year.
He said that he hoped it would bring new energy to the downtown area.
Hayward said the renovation has cost around a million dollars and is part of the town’s efforts to revitalize its downtown area.
