Essay: The Paris Attacks and the Statue of Liberty

With the terrorist attack on Paris there has been  backlash over Syrian refugees coming to this country with a majority of governors say they oppose them coming to their states.  Delmarva Public Radio's George Merrill ponders this sentiment in light of the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty.

Meanwhile, Governor Larry Hogan has said he opposes the refugees coming to Maryland, while Governor Jack Markell has said they would be welcomed in Delaware.
