Official photos

Vice President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to the Sussex County Democrats’ Jamboree in Lewes this weekend.

Climbing on top of a picnic table he thanked his supporters and those of his son Beau who recently died of brain cancer.

His son had been a regular at the event first attending as a child.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Biden showed up at the Cape Henlopen State Park where he shook hands of around 300 people.

Biden’s appearance was a surprise and not listed on his public schedule.
