Cove Road Beach, Off Limits

creative commons

Cove Road Beach is now off limits for swimmers.

The Wicomico County Department of Environmental Health says that the site has high levels of bacteria.

That led to the closure June 19th.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports contaminants including fecal matter wound up along the each as a result of heavy storm waters.

The bacteria can cause a number of diseases and symptoms that include infections of the nose, eyes and ears as well as diarrhea.

Meanwhile, the bacterial levels have been recorded at Roaring Point Beach.
