Five Injured in Route 113 Car Crash

An accident late yesterday afternoon has resulted in the injury of five people in Pocomoke.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that a crash involved a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Melanie Fenton who tried to cross two lanes of traffic into a median when she was struck on the side by a 2014 Chevrolet Express van.

Fenton was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and eventually was sent to the Shock Trauma unit in Baltimore.

Meanwhile  Thomas Messick who drove the van along with his three passengers wound up at Peninsula Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

The Daily Times reports that Route 113 was shut down for several hours.
