ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Natural Resources Police rescued seven people after their motorboat capsized on Whitehall Bay near Annapolis, police said.

Police tell the Capital of Annapolis that a patrol boat was returning from a wreath-laying ceremony at City Dock on Monday when officers saw people in the water.

Authorities say the boat flipped on its side after hitting a sandbar and then was hit by a wave.

All seven people, who had been out fishing, were pulled into the patrol boat.
