Merger for Western Maryland Casino

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - The owner of western Maryland's only casino is reporting its annual earnings and discussing its disputed plan to merge with another casino operator.

Lakes Entertainment Inc., based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, is releasing financial data Thursday. Executives will discuss the results in a conference call with reporters and analysts later in the day.

The company announced plans in January to merge with Las Vegas-based Sartini Gaming Inc. The Rocky Gap Casino Resort near Cumberland, Maryland, would become part of a new, publicly traded company called Golden Entertainment Inc.

New York law firm Levi & Korsinsky filed a lawsuit in February contending Lakes Entertainment failed to seek the best deal for Lakes shareholders. They would receive Golden Entertainment stock valued at $9.57 a share.

Lakes Entertainment says the claim is without merit.
