Collison Leaves One Dead Near Sixty Foot Road

Don Rush

A collision last night left one person dead in Salisbury.

The Maryland State Police say a two vehicle crash occurred on Route 50 westbound at Sixty Foot road.

Troopers say around 7:45 p.m. a Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east crossed Route 50 to go north on Sixty Foot road when it was hit on the passenger side by a Mazda.

WBOC reports that the accident resulted in the death of a 71-year old passenger from Rehoboth Beach.

He died at the scene.

Meanwhile, in the Mazda the driver and passenger – both in their 70’s – were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
