Construction near the Sixty Foot Road on Route 50 should be wrapped up by early spring.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the Maryland State Highway Administration says the intersection should become fully operational by then.
The agency adds weather is always a factor in delaying the work.
The paper reports that there are an average of 31-thousand vehicles that travel through the area each day.
And that number is expected to rise as the tourist season gets underway.
The work began in August of last year and is expected to cost $3.2 million.
Once done the top speed limit will return to 55 mph.
