Former Baltimore Orioles baseball Cal Ripken made a surprise visit to Pocomoke High school yesterday afternoon.
The visit was the result of a social media campaign a few months back trying to get the former players attention.
Ripken told WBOC that the effort was definitely creative noting that he had never been the object of such a campaign.
Besides baseball Ripken talked with the students about embracing life and change.
Jacob Glovier, who is a member of the Pocomoke baseball team, said Ripken was his childhood idol.
