Repairs on the damaged I-495 bridge over the Christina River will continue through January after the pilings were found to have been damaged last June.
Around 90 percent of the work has been completed and state officials had been hoping to get the work finished by the end of the calendar year.
The bridge was closed on June 2 after it was found to be tipping dangerously between the river and Christiana Avenue.
The southbound lanes were reopened on July 31st and the northbound lanes were reopened on August 24th.
