Lauren Monroe who teaches pre-kindergarten has been named Wicomico County’s Teacher of the Year.
The 28-year old has been with the district for the last seven years and has around 20 students in her Wicomico Early Learning Center.
She was among four finalists, who represented primary, intermediate, middle and high schools from a total of 25 teachers.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that when she became a finalist she said that while her students might not remember her in 20 years her presence will leave an imprint on their lives.
