Teacher of the Year Goes to Seaford Instructor

Seaford School District

Special education teacher Dana Bowe of West Seaford Elementary School has been named Teach of the Year of 2019.

When it was announced at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino last night Bowe looked shocked.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that she also won Teacher of the Year from the Down Syndrome Association in 2017.

She teaches kindergarten through second grade and has worked to promote the inclusion of children with disabilities including eliminating pejorative terms.

She has been a teacher for 17 years.
