EASTON, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police are looking for a Delaware man they say fled a Talbot County traffic stop and fired at troopers chasing him.

A trooper stopped a vehicle late Wednesday night near the intersection of routes 50 and 404, but while the trooper awaited backup, police say 28-year-old Brooks Perry of Milford, Del., drove off.

After about seven miles, Perry got out of his car on Route 50 north of the Easton Airport and fled on foot onto a nearby golf course. As troopers pursued him, police say Perry fired at troopers from atop a fence and one trooper fired back. Troopers were not hit and police say there's no evidence that Perry, who ran off, was hit.

Police say they are still searching for Perry on Thursday morning.
