
NEWARK, Del. (AP) - If Vice President Joe Biden and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie decide to run for president in 2016, they will have one unique connection in Delaware.
The Wilmington News Journal reports both the Democratic vice president and the Republican governor are graduates of the University of Delaware and shared the same mentor.
Professors and administrators who remember Biden and Christie on campus say they were both driven and well-known on campus. They say both men were outspoken and interested in politics back in college. Some say they didn't know if Biden or Christie were Republicans or Democrats.
Biden ran and won freshman class president. Christie also was involved in student government.
Professor James Soles was a mentor to both Biden and Christie. He retired in 2002 and died in 20
