Delaware Governor Jack Markell defended his plans to build a data center and a power plant at the former Chrysler site in Newark.
He told a town hall meeting last night that the projects would bring jobs to the state – especially in these difficult economic times.
Markell said, “We have to stop saying no.”
The Wilmington News Journal reports the line drew cheers from a large group in the audience of more than 100 at Delcastle Technical High School.
The two hour event caps a series of three such meetings held by the governor over the last month.
New Journal Executive Editor David Leford moderate the event and asked Markell questions ranging from the fate of Fisker Automotive and the economy to the data center.
