Delaware Provides Millions to Woo Businesses

Delaware is providing millions of dollars to woo businesses to the First State.

The Wilmington News Journalreports aside from battles over Amazon’s headquarters last month the state finalized a deal that would give nearly $4 million to the chemical company Solenis.

The paper reports that $2 million would keep 323 jobs at the company’s Delaware headquarters.

The rest is to go toward new construction with an additional 92 high paying jobs.

But not all state investments have turned out so well.

The News Journal notes that $20 million in taxpayer money went to the electric car maker Fisker Automotive in 2010.

Three years later it went bankrupt without a single promised job being created.
