TOWNSEND, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say students were hurt when a vehicle crashed into a stopped school bus.

The school bus was hit while it was stopped on South DuPont Parkway in Townsend to let students board on Friday morning.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle and several students were taken to area hospitals. None of the students' injuries are believed to be life threatening.

Appoquinimink School District Human Resources Director Matt Fallis says the bus takes students to Old State Elementary School. He says five students were injured and school staff were with students' parents at hospitals.
