Well Water Pollution Source May Have Been Found at Doe Run Subdivision

Don Rush

Wicomico County officials say they may have found the source of pollution into the groundwater of the Doe Run subdivision.

Director of Administration Wayne Strausburg told the Salisbury Daily Times this morning that it is believed that 1,2 Dichloropropane seeped into the well water of 12 homes after being used on a nearby strawberry farm.

It is not known how long the potential carcinogen has been in the water.

Doe Run is the second neighborhood in the past year to have well water test possible chemical contamination.
