Of Mosquitos, Beware

wikimedia.commons

Brace for another summer of mosquitos in Delaware.

That’s the word from the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control…which said that rain over the last week is expected to leave behind pools of water that are breeding grounds for mosquito eggs.

State officials are urging residents to empty things ranging from gutters and birdbaths to rain barrels and old tires as well as covering depressions with tarps.

WBOC TV reports that Delaware mosquito inspectors will also be out treating mosquito habitats including coastal marshes and freshwater wetlands.
