Wilmington City Council member Michael Brown was fired yesterday by his employer Connections Community Support Programs.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that he had been reassigned
Friday after calling for a state investigation into Allen Conover, the director of Rick VanStory Resources Center, an agency that works closely with Connections.
Connections CEO Cathy McKay told the paper last night that she could not comment on personnel matters.
Last week she said that Conover and the Center were important partners with her agency.
In addition, she said she had asked Brown not to continue his dispute with Conover.
Brown said that Conover was on a list of registered sex offenders.
But Conover noted that the sex offense occurred when he was in his teens.
