Bad Financial News for Ocean Pines Association

It’s tough financial times for aquatics, golf and the Yacht Club for the Ocean Pines Association.

General Manager Bob Thompson says that for the first six months of the current fiscal year they have fallen short of their budget projections.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that aquatics did show a profit of just less than $19-thousand but is below its nearly $75-thousand projected budget.

The golf operation was off target by more than $300-thousand.

The Yacht Club is in the red by just over $19-thousand.

Thompson said that the Yacht Club has suffered from being in poor condition.

Director Dave Stevens told the paper that even though the community has just approved a new $4.3 million Yacht Club it is not clear the Club will perform any better with a new building.
