Federal Funding of Brain Research in Delaware

Delaware State University is getting a $10.5 million grants for a Delaware Center for Neuroscience Research on its Dover campus.

The funds will come in over the next five years from the National Institutes of Health.

And the research center will be housed at DSU and operated in collaboration with the University of Delaware to study brain development. 

DSU will get $7.3 million while UD will receive $3.2 million.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the funds will support the on-going research of five faculty members and provide seed money for new projects for four other faculty members.
