Is the recession over for West Ocean City?

The route 50 corridor is witnessing a boom in construction and development that would make it seem so.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that last summer saw the openings of several national chain stores ranging from Chipotle and Popeyes’ to a Wal-Mart Supercenter and Bungalow Seven.

Just this past week the paper reports that a CVS pharmacy has begun construction on Keyser Road across from Rite-Aid.

Meanwhile, Tanger Outlets bought the Factory Outlet Center and has completed its renovations.

Interest appears to be growing as the nation begins to make its way out of the Great Recession.

Henry Hanna with Sperry van Ness Miller says he has seen a lot of interest from a number of different types of business in the West Ocean City corridor from the bridge to past Route 589.
