Ground Breaking for West OC Pathway

Meehan, oceancitymd.gov

There will be a new pathway for pedestrians and bicyclists that will connect West Ocean City with downtown.

Officials says that the $1.8 million pathway along Route 50 should be completed by the fall.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Ocean City Police say that pedestrian collisions in the area have remained steady at around 23 over the last three years.

The worst year was 2014 when there were 33 such collisions.

On hand for yesterday’s ground breaking were State Senator Mary Beth Carozza and Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan who emphasized safety as a top priority for resort area.
