Kim Hudson, co-founder of Parents in Action, was named to the Wicomico County Board of Education by Governor Martin O’Malley yesterday.
Hudson told the Salisbury Daily Times, “It’s not about politics it’s about education.”
Hudson was one of the people who applied directly to the state for the opening and was not suggested by the Republican Central Committee.
She has two students in the school system is involved in the PTA and has been an advocate for school funding.
Hudson also co-host “Because I Said So”, a program on parenting that is broadcast on Delmarva Public Radio.
Board President Ron Willie, who was also reappointed by the Governor, told the paper that he was thrilled by Hudson’s appointment.
She replaces Michelle Wright who had intended to serve her full five year term that ends in 2016 but quit because of financial disclosure requirements.
Also reappointed to the Board was Tyrone Chase.
