Luke Chapman Joins Newark City Council

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - A 28-year-old financial planner has been elected to the Newark City Council.

Luke Chapman defeated Rick Celeste, a DuPont engineer, in the election this week for the District 5 seat. Chapman will replace Councilman Ezra J. Temko, who is leaving the council to pursue a doctorate in political science.

Like Temko, who is 26, Chapman will be the youngest councilman on the board.

Chapman says he is eager to participate in the selection of Newark's next city manager.
