Delmarva Today 02-11-2022 Part Two

Linda Blaskey
Linda Blaskey

Wilson’s guest is poet Linda Blaskey. They discuss the online journal Quartet, created by Blaskey and three colleagues; Gail Braune Comorat, Wendy Elizabeth Ingersoll, and Jane C. Miller. All serve as editors of the Journal which publishes exclusively the poetry of women over fifty. "We believe," they say, "that at this time in a woman’s life we begin to surge, to come into our own. We believe experience speaks for itself, that by fifty we’ve accumulated enough courage to revel in our talents.”  Linda Blaskey’s work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Best New Poets of 2014. She also received the 2022 Master’s Fellowship Grant in Literature: Poetry from the Delaware Division of the Arts and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She is formerly the Interview and Poetry editor for the Broadkill Review and is the coordinator for the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize. Her recent poetry publications are White Horses, and Walking the Sunken Boards. Walking the Sunken Boards is a collaboration with the three editors of Quartet, each of them poets of note.
